Southeast Asia Indonesian Guardian Wood Figure
This handsome totemic wood carved sculpture of a seated person, wearing a crown hat. The top is carved with a spiral geometric carving. It has been attributed to Timor or Maluku tribal group of the islands of Indonesia. It is carved out of heavy hardwood. There is a big check or crack along the left side. This protective ancestral guardian figure was made in the mid 20th century or earlier. It stands 33 ½ inches tall x 7 inches wide.
