Qero, Kero, Qiro, Keros Wooden Chicha Cup Ceremonial Inca Colonial Period
This is a pair of wood cups from Peru. Beautifully painted with polychrome pigment, and resin. There are similar ones in the Menil Collection. Referred to Andean Colonial Keros Objects of Transcultural Exhibition. I am not sure of the date. I suggest they are early 19th C in an early Inca style. They are a male and female pair. Fully painted, with figural form, geometric designs. I like the flower motifs along the bottom. Full of Inca imagery. The male cup stands 6 ½ inches tall x 4 ½ inches wide. The female 5 and 1/2 inches tall x 4 and 1/4 inches wide.
