Pablo Picasso Sleeping Peasants Wood Carved Relief Panel Original Art
This is an original wood carved panel done in three pieces. All hand carved it depicts a scene of two lovers post coital, exhausted, resting in the hay. Titled the Sleeping Peasants, original work done by Pablo Picasso in 1919.
This decorative work is done by a skilled craftsman, superbly executed, with the ruffled draped clothing, with suggestive folds, her head thrown back with breast uncovered, there is light staining of the wood to give it more texture.
The people remind me of Diego Rivera, and Tina Modotti, friends of Picasso.
It has writing on the back “Pablo Picasso Italian Period/ Is In One Book About That Period”
In good condition, it has wire to hang on your wall. It measures 24 x 51 x 1/2 inches.
