First Nations Athabascan Babiche Netted Game Bag Beaded
This is a gathering carrying utility bag for small game. It is made from smoked hide, glass beadwork, soft hide fibers that has open knotted together. It has a fringe along the side. It has a navy blue taffeta shiny cloth inside lining. It is hand sewn and treadle sewing machine work along the top edge. It has a horizontal colour change green and red orange on the bag. The beadwork is green and orange design. It has an ink number written along the beadwork looks like 500. It has ties and thongs to attach to the hunter gatherer. In good condition, it measures 19 inches across x 14 inches long. It has a good soft feel and a nice overall look. It came from a collection, that was gathered on Vancouver Island.
