Fine Aymara Andean Woven Poncho

This is an antique textile hand woven in Peru or Bolivia. It is a poncho worn by the Aymara people of the Andes in South America. Circa 1920, it is woven out of two panel sewn together, with a hole in the middle to use as a poncho. It is finer weaving than usual; it has beautiful tone of shades of red. It has small trim border, and a fringe on all sides. It measures 44 x 43 inches.
