Early Victorian Miniature Portrait Painting Memorial Brooch
Circa 1860, this is a test 15 KT gold brooch frame, with a fine painting on the front and an old photograph on the back. The front is a hand painted portrait of an older gentleman with an Abraham Lincoln style beard, he is nicely dressed wearing a jacket with vest and a bow tie. Done in shade of gray with brownish background. The back has a sepia tone photograph of a lady with a bonnet wearing a Victorian brooch and lace collar. It has a large pin with a “C” clasp, it also had a round loop for hanging. It is large measuring 3 x 2 ¾ inches, total weight of 38 grams.
