This antique textile is from central Asia Kyrgyzstan, a finely embroidered wedding tapestry, for hanging over the bed possibly in a yurt. It is tightly worked using the chain stitch with silk thread over a faded worn velvet. It is from the 19th century, it depicts stylized flowers and vines, traditional folk art piece. This piece has been conserved, it has been remounted on a gray fine wool fabric. The restorer is Yetta Lees Straadine Gabriola Island, British Columbia Canada. She has a label sewn on the back. It is very clean, well preserved for along time to come. The vintage embroidery has some repair, mends, small holes, faded too. Look closely at the photographs. It measures 89 x 27 inches.
