Alver Tait Nisga’a Northwest Coast Dance Paddle
This is a handsome hand carved and painted red cedar dance paddle, signed by well known master carver Alver Tait. It is signed with a sharp knife Alver Tait 83. The painting depicts a bear design, done in traditional Nisga’a style. Alver Tait is the hereditary Chief of the Eagle/Beaver Clan and has received the Order of British Columbia. He is the brother of Norman and Robert Tait, also famous carvers. It measures 28 inches long x 5 inches wide.
