Parian Ware Salt Glaze Teapot Castleford Type Porcelain and CREAMER
Circa 1800 – 1830 this is an English teapot slip cast stoneware, possible made by Castleford Potteries. It has a salt glaze bisque Parian ware look to it. The teapot is intricately decorated with goddess’ and foliage, and fanciful borders. It has an unusual lid that is hinged with a large metal pin. It is in good condition, There are no cracks or chips, some tea staining inside the pot. There is an impressed mark 22 on the bottom. It measure 6 inches tall x 9 ¼ inches long from spot to handle.
It came with a creamer, that has had the handle repaired by a tinker gypsy style of restoration. Decorated with a god and cherub on each side. It measures 4 ¼ inches tall x 4 ½ inches waide from spout to handle. It has am impressed mark of 36.
