Product Description

19th C. British Navy Fire Bucket Oak Brass Nautical Grog English Oak Rope Handle Maritime You are looking at what I believe is an English Navel Ship, Fire Bucket made in the early 19th century or earlier. This heavy dark Oak bucket is made from 8 panels of 4 inch wide wood. It is decorated on the front with brass letters, “FIRE”. It is bound with brass strips. It has an old twisted rope handle. It has a chipped label on the bottom, Parkhouse, Old Curiosity Shop, Plymouth, that is made from white enamel, on copper. This is an estate piece, it has some repair in the “ear” of the bucket and a crack, the part the rope goes through. It stands 15 inches tall x 9 ¼ inches wide. I understand this bucket could have been used, or similar ones were made for Grog (Rum), or a water bucket for swabbing the deck. This is a true piece of nautical maritime antique collectible.
