This is a beautiful antique paisley shawl, made in Scotland around 1860. Its a square shawl, measuring 65 x 65 inches. It has a central plain black middle, with outreaching abstract swirling floral pattern. It is colourful, with red, orange, green, blue and black. It is in fair condition, two small holes, no repairs or tears. It is made from a fine wool. These were the hottest fashion in the 19th century, early machine made using the Jaquard loom, the designs were copies of the early India Kashmir shawl.
